About Fresh Meats Barrington

Fresh Meats first started in a small shop outside the Warehouse at Barrington. This business was bought by Glen and Jill Hurcomb in 2003 and relocated to its present site in 2004.

The present shop was purpose built with modern refrigeration and computerised scales etc.

Glen first worked in the meat industry for his father more than 40 years ago. He owned his first shop at the age of 18 and was butchering in Blenheim with Jill’s help for 20 years. More recently he was in charge of the meat operations for Foodstuffs SI LTD, then he ran the Butcher’s Shop at Bishopdale and now he is using his experience to serve the people at Barrington.
